The Lingual Theory A Hybrid of Semiotics and Stand Point Theories of Analyzing Films

The Lingual Theory A Hybrid of Semiotics and Stand Point Theories of Analyzing Films The media is an avenue through which occurrences taking place in a society are communicated to the audience. Such communication is usually guided by specific frameworks meant to deliver information in a certain manner. Colombo (2004) points out that film and other forms of mass communication ascribe to particular theoretical frameworks to deliver their message to the target audience.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on The Lingual Theory: A Hybrid of Semiotics and Stand Point Theories of Analyzing Films specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More However, some of the theories used in this field have been overtaken by events, rendering them irrelevant in contemporary society. As such, it is incumbent upon the stakeholders to come up with new theoretical frameworks that respond to the evolving needs in these changing times. In the current paper, the author seeks to develop a new theory of communication with regards to film. Colombo (2004) points out that generation of new theories is made possible by building upon existing models. To this end, the author of this paper relies on the semiotics and standpoint theories to come up with a new structure of communication. The utilization of these two theories in the field of film generation and distribution is critically examined in this essay. Such assessment helps the author to come up with a hybrid theory whose concepts build on the weaknesses of the other two. The applicability of the new theoretical model, dubbed the lingual theory, will be tested against a real life scenario in contemporary media. The Semiotics Theory of Communication The theoretical structure is developed from the study of signs and their related processes and applications in communication. According to Friedman and Thellefsen (2011), the theory is closely related to the linguistic model of analyzing the structure of a particular language. The model helps to determine the meaning of the various languages used in communication. Friedman and Thellefsen (2011) add that the theory of semiotics builds on linguistic studies. To this effect, it makes use of sign systems that are not themselves linguistic in nature. In a bid to illustrate the components of the semiotics model of communication, Friedman and Thellefsen (2011) point out that signs form the backbone of the theory. Friedman and Thellefsen argue that the theoretical framework is applied in a wide array of platforms in the communication and media arena. For example, Friedman and Thellefsen (2011) are of the opinion that the theory is used in the fashion and the science fiction movie industries. The developers of this framework suggest that human beings are naturally animals. Friedman and Thellefsen (2011) add that, due to their animalistic nature, humans have the ability to develop and interpret signs. It is this development and interpretation of symbols that forms the basis of the semiotics theory.Advertising Looking for research paper on communications media? Let's see if we can help you! The first is the branch that focuses on the semantics of the language. Here, the meaning of the signs used in communication is deciphered. In addition, the theory looks at the structural relations between the given signs. It is these relations that Li (2011) refers to as the semantics. Finally, the model has a pragmatic component to it. The element helps to determine the relationship between the sign using agents and the signs developed. In other words, it identifies the language in relation to the user. The theory is widely used in communication given that language and linguistics are major components of this phenomenon. In such cases, the signs are developed to form some kind of code. Such codes represent a particular element of the society (Alsina Jimenez, 2010). An example of its application is found in the imagery used to depict a specific phenomenon in the society through the media. Alsina and Jimenez (2010) hold that advertisements and films make use of sexual allure to pass across their message to the target audience. In this case, the symbol of a woman is mostly used. The need to develop this theory stems from the two of the assumptions that are made. Friedman and Thellefsen (2011) point out that the model assumes that cultures are formed through language. Consequently, the use of a language that appears to be private creates an atmosphere of unfairness. Another supposition is made with regards to speech in the society. The theory presupposes that all individuals have the ability to communicate in more than one ‘speech community’ (Colombo, 2004, p. 44). The two assumptions are evidently in conflict with each other. As a result, a need arises to generate a blend between the two (Friedman Thellefsen, 2011). The model insists that everybody can participate in the various speech communities. As a result, the theory implies that all cultures have a similar signage in their languages (Friedman Thellefsen, 2011).Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on The Lingual Theory: A Hybrid of Semiotics and Stand Point Theories of Analyzing Films specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Such an assumption is not entirely true. An example of the erroneous nature of such a supposition can be seen in the generational gap between people. For instance, there was a time when certain depictions that are not in use today were accepted in the media. Alsina and Jimenez (2010) make a case for feminism and how its acceptance varies depending on one’s age group. The generation that lived in the fifties accepted the image of a submissive woman in the media. The same is unacceptable in today’s society (Friedman Thellef sen, 2011). To the female watching a 50s film today, an image of a woman working out in the kitchen appears like a foreign language. Such are the reasons why the theory needs to be changed since imagery is viewed as a private language to people of different speech communities. Standpoint Theory of Communication In modern society, there exist various forms of communication which are inter-subjective in nature. The standpoint theory is a framework developed to analyze discourses of this form (Anderson Baym, 2004, p. 589). The theoretical model is of the view that people’s opinions are formed by their knowledge. As a result, the opinions vary depending on the levels of knowledge among different individuals. The perspectives of the audience in relation to a particular subject matter are based or informed by their past experiences. Anderson and Baym (2004) provide a working definition of the standpoint concept to illustrate this model. Anderson and Baym (2004) conceptualize the c oncept as a specific location from where an individual looks at their society. The standpoint model of communication focuses on a number of issues. The elements addressed include gender, race, and social class (Anderson Baym, 2004). An example of the use of this theory is evident in the way one perceives a person from the African American community. The media depictions of the said racial group’s association with crime support the biased nature of such individual perceptions. A similar situation is seen among the Hispanic community. However, a change in their social class may lead to variations in the perceptions accorded the individuals. The theory is synonymous with feminism in mass communication (Anderson Baym, 2004). Like any other social science model, the standpoint theory makes a number of assumptions. In their research, Buzzanell (2003) affirms that the standpoint model of communication is feminist in nature. The same stems from the assumption that social relations are understood on the basis of societal classes (Buzzanell, 2003). In addition, the theory postulates that the elite members of a society lord their opinions on their inferiors. The upper classes suppress the opinions and welfare of persons in the lower echelons of the social ladder. The view further assumes that the ‘standpoints’ of the social elite rank higher than those of persons from the lower cadres.Advertising Looking for research paper on communications media? The critics argue that it focuses on the marginalized groups in the society, leaving out the others. According to Intemann (2010), the conceptual framework is applied in instances where there is a need to illustrate marginalization in the community. The most common example of the application of this theory is in the analysis of the issue of slavery. At the time of the slave trade, the Africans sold to slavery were believed to be from an inferior school of thought. Consequently, films created in this field tend to depict persons of African origins as inferior to the Caucasians (Intemann, 2010). In the modern times, feminism appears to be the most common channel through which the standpoint theory conveys information to the general public (Buzzanell, 2003). An example of this application is made apparent in the African context where radio is used by women to highlight their sufferings in the soci ety. Such is a biased perspective given the fact that it is discriminatory to use the radio to address the issues related to women along. Buzzanell (2003) points out that mass media exhibit feminism by depicting women as inferior to men. Intemann (2010) points out that the internet age has made information accessible to many people. As a result, the class and gender biases associated with this theory are increasingly becoming irrelevant, necessitating a new framework. The standpoint model attempts to build on previous theories by insisting that experience is not necessary in formulating perceptions about a group of people. However, by creating class and gender biases, the theory appears to erect hurdles with regards to information access. As a result, it is important to develop a better framework to reduce this bias. The Need for a New Theory of Communication Anderson and Boym (2004) posit that communication should be beneficial to the audience targeted. The said benefit can be real ized through elimination of biases. Effective communication makes use of coded language in a bid to discriminate against or pour contempt on another group of people. The two theories discussed above fail to meet the high threshold of fairness. Based on this, the need to develop an effective communication framework requires the advancement of a new theory. The shortcomings of the two theories above are grounds enough for the formulation of a new theoretical framework. The author of this essay responds to this need by developing a hybrid theoretical concept. According to Anderson and Boym (2004), communication philosophy should evolve with time. Hybridization of existing theories is a way through which this evolution is realized. The New Lingual Theory of Communication Termed the lingual theory, the new framework borrows various concepts from the two theories discussed above. According to Mejias (2001), communication is a dynamic social behavior. It follows that the frameworks through which information is communicated to the masses must respond to these dynamics. In line with this, the lingual theory attempts to introduce dynamism to the semiotics and standpoint theories. In essence, the new model brings together the two ‘antique’ frameworks and builds on their weaknesses. The underlying principle of this new framework is the language factor. Wright (2001) argues that communication should develop in tandem with the changes taking place in the language sector. The changes are usually in the semantics and the demographic perceptions associated with particular languages. In such cases, the semiotics theory addresses the issue through the signage concept. On its part, the standpoint theory donates its concepts on knowledge. By fusing the two dimensions, the lingual theory seeks to reduce the biases and prejudices attributed to the earlier conceptualizations of communication. Theories are usually formulated by making several assumptions (Wright, 2001). T he lingual theory presupposes that communication is a phenomenon characteristic to all living organisms. For the purposes of this discourse, the phenomenon is assumed to be present in all human beings. The second conjecture of this theory is that people from all walks of life are free to access information. Consequently, communication will phase out signs and analogies that lock out some groups in the society. Mejias (2001) illustrates that in today’s cyber age, access to information is not restricted. On the basis of this reality, the lingual theory makes the assumption that information should be made available to all people. The theory proposes the elimination of coded language that creates some form of secrecy. The objective is to ensure that information is communicated without a tinge of prejudice whatsoever. The propositions made in the lingual theory are aimed at reducing the identified biases. The model promotes innovativeness in communication. According to Anderson an d Boym (2004), the dynamic nature of language implies that certain semantics do not make sense to some clusters of people in the society. The theory homes in on such circumstances and proposes innovativeness in the semantics and symbols used in language. For instance, instead of using sexual allure as a symbol for advertising female related products, media outlets should introduce some form of euphemism. In this sense, innovativeness is likely to increase the number of target audience The theory provides that communication should not discriminate against some groups in the society. Lack of discrimination will increase access to information. The suggestion rides on the assumption that information should be open to everyone in the society. Anderson and Boym (2004) make a similar suggestion by arguing that communication is expected to be a universally uniting form of art. To this end, the element should reduce racial, gender, and class discrimination, which characterize most forms of v isual art. Mejias (2001) affirms that theoretical frameworks are developed from various paradigms. The paradigms are schools of thought that tend to explain the perceptions of the various elements in the community. The lingual theory relies on a positivist paradigm given its focus on reality as defined by a person’s senses. The need to eliminate biases and prejudices informs the use of this paradigm. The theory seeks to be objective and realistic. The selected paradigm makes it possible to communicate by expressing concrete aspects of a society, including events and situations. The theory borrows heavily from the Shannon and Weaver traditions of communication models. Mejias (2001) points out that the model comprises of a sender, a medium, and a receiver. The lingual theory is based on the fact that modern communication relies on different media for transmission, upholding this tradition in the long term. The tradition adopted also stems from the fact that the new model addres ses the issue of parties involved in communication. Application of the Lingual Theory The theory can be used in different situations in a societal setting. As already indicated, it seeks to eliminate biases and prejudices in communication. It can be utilized to address complaints touching on feminism. According to Cuklanz and Sujata (2006), the depiction of women in the media is a major concern to many people. There are groups of people who feel offended by the feminist approach in highlighting women in films and other communication platforms. The lingual theory comes as a relief to women and other anti-feminist groups. Feminism can be used to understand the injustices meted out on women due to their gender (Cuklanz Sujata, 2006). Some media personalities find it important to use women to pass across information. However, such depictions are associated with various prejudices and biases. An assumption is made to the effect that women belong to a certain category. Such depictions of women as housewives were prominent in the 1950s. However, with changing times, women are increasingly embracing new professions. As a result, a portrayal of women as inferior beings goes against the ethics of communication. The most common element of feminism in communication is evident in the illustration of women as sexual objects. Cuklanz and Sujata (2006) argue that most films and advertisement campaigns seek to attract the attention of their clients by creating sexual images of women. In most cases such forms of communication are targeted at the male audience. In a way, the sexual highlight is prejudicial since women can be much more than objects of primal satisfaction. Communication of such nature is driven by the two theories discussed earlier. The lingual theory seeks to respond to anti-feminism, especially in mass media. An example is made of a fashion advertisement targeting women who are in the working class category. Bearing in mind that the lingual theory focuses on th e content, the creator, and the recipient of messages, innovativeness is expected to minimize bias. In line with this, the theory comes up with signs and semantics that sit well with the professional woman of modern times. For instance, rather than advertise a dress that has sexual connotations, the emitter can go for a comfortable, yet appealing, professional look. Figures 1 and 2 below illustrate this: Figure 1: Sexy dress Source: Women sexy dress lady party mini dresses backless clubwear evening (2013) Figure 2: Professional look Source: Ladies’ sweater ol fashion large size knitted coat women’s modern outer wholse, ladies’ autumn outerwear fall clothing (2014) Figure 1 creates an evident sexual appeal illustrated through the dress worn by the model. Such an impression is common in advertisements. However, the model in figure 2 helps to bring in some sense of self-worth to suggest that a woman can be comfortable and happy without the need to appeal to the s exual emotions. Symbols and signs inform most communication processes (Alsina Jimenez, 2010). However, according to the lingual theory, the symbol used in figure 2 lacks bias and prejudice. Semantics are key components of communication processes (Anderson Baym, 2004). By borrowing from the semiotics theory, the lingual framework incorporates semantics in the new equation. The textual language used to pass information should be non-prejudicial. In such instances, the emitter of a given piece of information is expected to make use of euphemism. An example can be made in the film industry. An example can be given of a film featuring women. Intemann (2010) argues that derogatory language may be used to refer to female characters. Such language is offensive to the women folk. The lingual theory restricts individuals from making use of such offensive language in a bid to accommodate everyone. Conclusion The author of this paper argues that the standpoint and semiotics theory limit the e ffectiveness of communication. Anderson and Boym (2004) hold the opinion that effective communication should not discriminate against some parties in the society. The shortcomings of the two theories necessitate the creation of an alternative model. However, it is important to note that the new lingual theory has its own shortcomings. By assuming that information is universally accessible, the theory goes against the need for privacy under sensitive circumstances. Nonetheless, the lingual theory provides an alternative framework of communication. References Alsina, R., Jimenez, L. (2010). Ornithomimids - The Bird Mimic Dinosaurs

Ornithomimids - The Bird Mimic Dinosaurs As dinosaur families go, ornithomimids (Greek for bird mimics) are a bit misleading: these small-to-medium-sized theropods werent named for their similarity to flying birds like pigeons and sparrows, but too large, flightless birds like ostriches and emus. In fact, the typical ornithomimid body plan looked a lot like that of a modern ostrich: long legs and tail, a thick, rounded trunk, and a small head perched atop a slender neck. Because ornithomimids like Ornithomimus and Struthiomimus bear such a marked resemblance to modern ratites (as ostriches and emus are technically classified), theres a strong temptation to infer similarities in the behavior of these two very different types of animals. Paleontologists believe that ornithomimids were the fastest dinosaurs that ever lived, some long-legged varieties (such as Dromiceiomimus) capable of hitting speeds of 50 miles per hour. Theres also a strong temptation to picture ornithomimids as covered with feathers, though the evidence for this isnt as strong as for other families of theropods, such as raptors and therizinosaurs. Ornithomimid Behavior and Habitats Like a few other dinosaur families that prospered during the Cretaceous periodsuch as raptors, pachycephalosaurs and ceratopsiansornithomimids seem to have been confined mainly to North America and Asia, although some specimens have been dug up in Europe, and one controversial genus (Timimus, which was discovered in Australia) may not have been a true ornithomimid at all. In keeping with the theory that ornithomimids were fast runners, these theropods most likely inhabited ancient plains and lowlands, where their pursuit of prey (or headlong retreat from predators) wouldnt be impeded by thick vegetation. The most unusual characteristic of ornithomimids was their omnivorous diets. These were the only theropods we yet know of, besides therizinosaurs, that evolved the ability to eat vegetation as well as meat, as evidenced by the gastroliths found in the fossilized guts of some specimens. (Gastroliths are small stones that some animals swallow in order to help grind up tough plant matter in their guts.) Since later ornithomimids possessed weak, toothless beaks, its believed that these dinosaurs fed on insects, small lizards, and mammals as well as plants. (Interestingly, the earliest ornithomimidsPelecanimimus and Harpymimusdid have teeth, the former over 200 and the latter a mere dozen.) Despite what youve seen in movies like Jurassic Park, theres no solid evidence that ornithomimids scurried across the North American plains in vast herds (although hundreds of Gallimimus galloping away from a pack of tyrannosaurs at top speed would certainly have been an impressive sight!) As with many types of dinosaurs, though we know frustratingly little about the daily life of ornithomimids, a state of affairs that may well change with further fossil discoveries.

Assay Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 1

Assay - Essay Example He replied that the symptoms manifested the day before, and that he has not had any medications as yet. He appeared to be a very healthy man in his forties. The pharmacist later revealed to me that the patient was a regular at the pharmacy. The patient’s blood pressure and cholesterol levels were within normal range and he did not suffer any medical conditions. After the interview, I observed that the pharmacist advised him to take Dimetapp which is an over-the-counter, no-drowse, cough and cold remedy. The pharmacist also advised him to increase his water intake in order to facilitate his recovery from his colds. A review of various articles and researches on the effectiveness of non-antibiotic remedies for cough and colds revealed that the most promising remedies for cough and colds include â€Å"dextromethorphan, bisolvon, and guiaphenesin for cough, antihistamine- decongestant combinations for a wide range of symptoms, nasal decongestants (at least for the first dose) and possibly zinc lozenges† (Arroll, p. 1478). Dimetapp is an antihistamine-decongestant, hence highly recommended for colds and cough. Another patient came in to buy a sedative nasal decongestant. I observed the pharmacist interview where the pharmacist asked him if he was taking any other medication, and he said he was taking Exxefor. I reviewed my knowledge of Exxefor and was able to establish that Exxefor is an antidepressant classified as an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor). It is a prescription drug for major depressive and anxiety disorders. This drug is also contraindicated for patients who are hypersensitive to Venlafaxine. I was further able to establish that the most common side-effects for Exxefor are the following: headache, nausea, insomnia, dry mouth, dizziness, and sweating. When taken with any sedative drug, the chances for the occurrence of these side-effects would increase. I then understood why the

Critique a Research Article Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Critique a Article - Research Paper Example However, recent studies presented that almost 50%-72% of genetic elements are responsible for repeated co-occurrences of such disorders to the same patient or to the particular family tree. Thus, the research problem that has been addressed in this article is whether (cross)–assortative mating or (cross)–parent of origin effects of ASD and ADHD in parents have any relationship with the co-occurrence of either ASD or ASD with ADHD among their children. Initially, the article was aimed at discovering whether ASD and ADHD share similar structural and functional brain abnormalities which would also prove the co-occurrences of such disorders among parents and children belonging to one family tree. In order to obtain this particular aim, the authors used a series of literature studies an interview process. Subsequently, the obtained conclusion stated that the two disorders share insignificantly similar structural bases and functional brain abnormalities (Steijn, Richards, Oer lemans, Ruiter, Aken, Franke, Buitelaar & Rommelse, 2012). Evaluation of the Research Methods Used Does the author provide a literature review? One of the main reasons or motivations to use literature review in a research process is the intention to verify or justify the concerned issue with reference to prior studies and already evaluated and rationalized outcomes (Cronin, Ryan & Coughlan, 2008). However, the aim of the article was to identify and comprehend a new dimension of the concerned research phenomenon, i.e. the possibilities and the probable causes of co-occurrences of ASD and ASD with ADHD among parents and children in the same family tree. Hence, a greater emphasis is provided towards primary sources through interview rather than on literature reviews in this article. Nevertheless, the authors make use of the secondary research in the introductory part to signify the literature gap and the scope of the research. Is the Research Current and Relevant to Today Existing Heal th Issues? A large number of treatments are undertaken currently with children suffering from autism. Recent studies have depicted that almost 1 out of every 88 children is diagnosed with an ASD, among which boys have been examined as 5 times more vulnerable to girls. However, scientists have been unable to provide any valid explanation for the increase in the diagnosis (Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, 2012). Moreover, it is also identified that symptoms of ADHD also create significant problems for more than half of all the children with autism or ASD syndrome. Unfortunately, both the disorders, ASD and ADHD are under recognized and under treated by doctors in majority of medical cases. Hence, there is a greater demand and need for researching on such crucial topic in order to gain significant insights about these disorders (Autism Speaks Inc, 2011). Thus, it can be stated that research on such critical topic in the current context is worth to be undertaken for ensuring enhanced public h ealth. Describe the research type utilized? – Experimental, non-experimental, quasi experimental, etc. The authors have applied experimental research type for conducting the research study in order to establish the assumed cause and effect relationship between the

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Essay Example for Free

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Essay In the novel the curious incident of the dog in the night time Mark Hadden demonstrates the qualities of hardships and problems which every key character in the novel has to deal with. Some are stronger or harder than others but in the end they still have to jump that hurdle they are trying to get over. Every character does find a way to manage their problems and deal with them sensibly. But I respect Mr Boone the most because he deals with two lots of troubles, his own and his son Christopher’s. Mr. Boone deals with a substantial amount of problems throughout the novel. Not only his personal problems but dealing with Christopher as a son, and for filling his needs. He learns to manage and structure his life with the problems he has surrounding him. At the begging of the book Ed Boone’s character portrays a strong personality that can stand up to his problems. Christopher gives him nuisance with him not being able to understand the emotions that a person can go through. This leaves Mr Boone on his own when things get emotional, he can’t hug his son or give any affection. Mr Boone and Christopher send love to each other by touching fingertips together: We do this because sometimes father wants to give me a hug but I do not like hugging people, so we do this instead, and it means that he loves me . Mr Boone faces his wife leaving him for another man. He hides this to the one he loves the most, his son. As the author depicts in the book, Christopher has a few problems comprehending emotions, this is why Mr Boone hides Christopher’s mother leaving the family. Not only does he have trouble dealing with the fact his wife left him but he has to carry the guilt of keeping this big secret from Christopher. Mother had not had a heart attack. Mother had not died. Mother had been alive all the time. And father had lied to me about this. Pg 141 Mrs. Boone initially runs away from all of her troubles but as she comes to a reality of what she has done she tries her best to fix and overcome every hardship she escaped from. Mrs Boone has various problems to deal with throughout the novel. The first hurdle she has to jump over is having Christopher as a son and trying to cater his needs. She finds all of this too hard and decides to escape and have an affair with Mr Shears. The prime emotion she overcomes is guilt. Guilt plays a massive role in her life after she leaves Christopher with his father and whether she would hurt him. I was not a very good mother Christopher . This section of the book is really demonstrating the guilt and pressure she felt leaving Christopher. Guilt also comes up when she leaves her husband for another man. She never intentioned to hurt anyone all she wanted was the best for Christopher That was when I realised you and your father were probably better off if I wasn’t living in the house. Mrs Boone was doing the best for the boy she loved the most, her son. Christopher has to deal with the problem of not being able to comprehend others emotions. This affects Christopher in every aspect of life because it makes it hard for him to commutate with strangers or new people. This makes it difficult for him to make a strong friendship with someone. He does not understand imaginary feelings; he is blunt and cuts straight to facts. There were tears coming out of his eyes. This shows that Christopher see’s the physical side of things but can’t go into someone’s shoes and feel what they are going through. As Christopher and Mr Boone have a strong relationship at the start of the book, Mr Boone tells lies about Christopher’s mother’s departure from the family. Christopher fells betrayed and alone after he finds out his father had lied to him the whole time about his mother leaving. All of a sudden Christopher has to deal with the feeling of being alone after he cannot trust his father. Mr Boone tries to convince Christopher to trust him again: I want you to know you can trust me . But Christopher found it hard to gain trust back with his father. Throughout the book all of the characters discover their weaknesses and strengths. But they all have problems they have to go through. All though they all have their problems I admire Mr Boone the most because unlike the other characters he has two types of problems to deal with. His own problems and dealing with his son’s difficulties; with the condition of Aspergers Syndrome. All of the key characters deal with their issues and can go through hard time in the novel but they all discover strategies on how to overcome their hardships. Mr Boone deals with the greatest amount of problems and I admire all of the characters for facing their problems and conquering their issues.

Nothing Excites Me More than Teaching! :: College Admissions Essays

Nothing excites me more than teaching. For years, I wanted to be a pediatrician so I could work with children. Throughout my high school years, however, I have discovered that making people feel better is a job not only for doctors. My experiences in high school have helped me prepare for a career in teaching. Since sophomore year, I have worked at an elementary school at the extended day program. Almost every day after school I play outside with the children, set up crafts, and help them with their homework. While some of their assignments may seem trivial to me, I realize that it can be a struggle for them. Helping the children with any kind of homework makes me smile, knowing that I can increase their esteem and confidence. I help them discover different techniques for certain math problems or easy ways to search for information in a story. I love bringing myself back to the mind of the third grader to help them understand their work. Teaching to a mind of my own age, on the other hand, is not always easier. For a few years, I have been a math tutor during school. For 20 minutes a day, before or after lunch, a few other tutors and I help any students who need extra help. Usually we emphasize techniques for a lesson, explain certain points for a homework assignment, or review formulas for a unit test. As an individual tutor, sometimes my one explanation doesn't register with our peers. We often group together to help the students discover many different ways for solving a problem so they can find one technique that they can easily understand. The students often feel comfortable working with one of their peers, learning from someone who is at the same level as they are. After every tutoring session, both the students and I are proud of a job well done. My teaching experience has extended out of the classroom during the summer. This summer will be my fourth year working at NHOM Camp Gottalikachallenge. At these camps, however, my position as a teacher is modified to a "coach." Camp Gottalikachallenge is a week-long day camp for children entering grades 4 through 8. Throughout the week, the children split into groups of 8 to 10 and work on a long-term challenge, creating props and a play for their presentation at the end of the week.

William Wordsworth

Describe similarities and differences between â€Å"I wandered lonely as a Cloud† by William Wordsworth and the extract from The Grasmere Journals by his sister Dorothy Wordsworth. Comparison must include comments on the, language, imagery, genre and audience of the two texts. â€Å"I wandered lonely as a Cloud† by William Wordsworth is a lyric poem focusing on the poet's response to the beauty of nature. A lyric poem presents the deep feelings and emotions of the poet rather than telling a story or presenting a witty observation. This is also seen on the language of the poem as W. Wordsworth uses personifications when he starts by comparing himself to a lonely cloud. Another personification and metaphor is when W. W compares the daffodils to a crowd of people and further more dancing humans. He starts his poem with a simile Alliteration: lonely as a cloud (line 1). Simile: Comparison (using as) of the speaker's solitariness to that of a cloud (line 1). Personification: Comparison of the cloud to a lonely human. line 1) Alliteration: high o'er vales and Hills (line 2). Alliteration: When all at once (line 3). (Note that the w and o have the same consonant sound. ) Personification/Metaphor: Comparison of daffodils to a crowd of people (lines 3-4). Alliteration: golden Daffodils (line 4). Alliteration: Beside the Lake, beneath the trees, Personification/Metaphor: Comparison of daffodils to dancing humans (lines 4, 6). The speaker humanizes the daffodils when he says they are engaging in a dance.

Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Facebook Cash Manuscript Imran Naseem How To Use The Power Of Facebook To Make Money Imran Naseem http://www. ImranNaseem. com Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) All rights reserved This report is for personal use only. Imran Naseem Copyright 2009 Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Welcome to my latest WSO on how to cash in from the world’s number one social networking site – Facebook. [email  protected] com With all my reports this is going to be a no fluff report on how to make money from Facebook. I will not bore you with a full history of Facebook – if you want a history lesson then you can go ahead and research on Wikipedia on the history of Facebook. This report will mainly cover the following. ? How to use Facebook to make money for CPA ?How to use Facebook Applications to make money ? How to use Facebook and make something go â€Å"viral† I hope you enjoy reading this report a nd you replicate my strategies for Facebook. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Making Money From Facebook I was a sucker when it came to Facebook. In fact I was always sceptical of Facebook but in recent months I have been using Facebook and it has had given me excellent results and made me money. Now I am going to go straight into this. The first thing you will need to do is head over to Facebook and make a new account. Now once you have registered Facebook basically gives you lots of different options to edit your profile. For the best results I always make sure I add my picture to my profile as it gives that bit of extra edge and when it comes to adding people it makes life much easier. Once you have created your Facebook account I would then focus on adding your â€Å"friends†. Now I have two Facebook accounts – one for business (where I have all my friends from the Warrior Forum and the Internet Marketing community) and one for â€Å"my social friends†.For the best results I always have greater success from my second Facebook account which has all my â€Å"social friends† – people who I meet on a regular basis and people I have either studied with at school or worked with in the past. However, if you only have one main Facebook account then that is not a problem! Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now the first thing I want to focus on is FACEBOOK GROUPS. Now Facebook Groups are very popular right now because these groups allow like minded individuals to talk about almost anything. So that means you can set up a group today on virtually any topic in the world. The beauty of Facebook Groups is that people can cater towards a certain niche and get together as a community to talk about a certain cause. For example, there have been lots of groups in recent years on the War In Iraq and groups that that relate to something that is happening in the news. For example, the recent Earthquake in Indonesia or the death of Michael Jackson has had an effect on people – I call these type of Facebook groups â€Å"Emotional based groups† because these groups have people who have been effected by the tragic events in the world. There are also groups that call for a â€Å"ban on† something. For example, there have been lots of groups on Facebook that call for â€Å"ban on guns and knives†. I call these type of groups â€Å"Pressure Groups† because these people want something to be done and want to see or would like to see a change in the law. And then there are groups which people set up for â€Å"fun†. For example, there are groups with topics such as â€Å"how fast can you type† or the first to comment gets to win a FREE Iphone. People join these types of groups for fun because they are either bored or at work or may just join because they are curious about something.I call these type of groups â€Å"Fun Groups†. Now for the purposes of this report I will focus on setting up FUN Groups and how to get as many people as possible to join these groups. Now Facebook groups are very popular. Here are just some of the different groups catering different niches. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are some Tatoo Groups Here are some groups on Make up Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are some groups on BreakdancingThere are so many different niches and topics that people are passionate about. Now I would focus on the niches people are not only passionate about but you will able to get so many people joining in a short space of time. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now in order to create a Facebook group it is pretty straight forward. Simply head over to http://www. facebook. com/groups. php Next click the â€Å"create group† link. Imran Nas eem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) The next thing you need to do is simply create your group. Now Facebook allows you to enter your Group name so people can find you and also description (now in this box you can enter your URL for any website or affiliate link if you have one). Once you have entered your entire information click â€Å"create group†. Now when it comes to creating your group there are lots of different categories. Because I tend to focus on the â€Å"just for fun† category I usually select this one. However, if your group is going to be on something else for example, a specific niche such as â€Å"weight loss† then I would select the â€Å"specific interest† category. Imran Naseem – http://www.ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Once you have created your group and are happy with it the next thing to do is publish it live. So for example, here is an example group I have set up right now for the purposes of this report. As you can see I have picked an eye catching title – E. g. 1 million girls who love make up. Now as you know the make up niche is huge – 90% of girls love putting make up on and this is why it is easier to target a certain niche. The female market is huge! Now once you have created your group you can edit it, add your URL and start â€Å"inviting people to join†. Now this is important. The more people you have on your Facebook the more chances your group will grow more. For example, let’s say you have over 200 people on your Facebook then the chances are these people will tell their friends about the group and their friends will tell other people until there is a â€Å"viral effect†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Once you have lots of people who are coming onto your group then I would find an affiliate offer related to your group. For example, there are lots of $1. 00 submit offers related to the beauty niche. These can add u p easily for just the submission of an email address. In order to get more people visiting your group I usually add the following text. (You can use this one for your groups too and replace the relevant words). 1 Join this group. 2 Click on â€Å"Invite People to Join† from the menu on the right. 3 Select all your friends (for this to work, you need to do this). 4 Click on â€Å"Send invitation† It's that simple. THEN PLEASE PRESS THE â€Å"SHARE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT HERE, AND POST THIS GROUP TO YOUR PROFILE. LETS TRY AND GET A MILLION†¦. Also please become a fan of our fanpage at [[URL LINK]] †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦.. (0 0) . —oOO– (_)—–. ================= ¬  ¦ INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS  ¦ L=================- ‘—————oOO †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦.. |__|__| †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦. || || †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦. ooO Ooo Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now groups are an excellent way to buil d a lot of members but my personal favourite way of making money is to create fan pages. Fanpages on Facebook are very popular and anyone can set up a fanpage on almost anything! There are Fanpages on almost anything – celebrities, businesses, people just about anything people have a passion for. I recommend you set up Fanpages over Groups because Fanpages tend to get a lot of people in a short space of time.In fact Fanpages are so popular this article here shows just how popular Fanpages have become with online retailers. There are lots of Fanpages on almost anything. For example, take a look at these following Fanpages for the following niches. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are Fanpages on Tattoos. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are Fanpages on Breakdancing (As you can see there are just over 13 fanpages – which means if you created a fanpage on breakdancing you can easily beat the competition! ) Imran Naseem – http://www.ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now in order to create a Fanpage it is pretty simple. Just go to this link at – http://www. facebook. com/pages/create. php Now the next thing you need to do is simply decide on the type of Fanpage you intend to create. I would pick something people are passionate about. The beauty of Facebook is that the traffic is already there. People would be willing to join your Fanpage if you can give them a good reason to join and they would be willing to spread the word for you. For example, giving 1 cent to every person who joins your Fanpage could be one idea.So for example, if 1000 people joined your fanpage then that is a total of $10. 00. Also avoid imitating celebrities as you have to be careful on the type of Fanpage you create. Therefore, for the purpose of this report I would focus on:? Niches people are passionate about – e. g. tattoos and piercing ? Fanpages which are â€Å"fun† – For example, â€Å"how fast can you type†? or 1 million tattoo lovers. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now once you are ready to create your Facebook fanpage you need to decide on the category. For example, Area, Brand or Artist or â€Å"Other†.I usually head over to the â€Å"Other† category if I cannot find a relevant one to put my fan page under. So above as you can see I have done an example already for you. â€Å"1 Million People who want to be rich†. Now I usually sometimes pick â€Å"fun type† of topics. It is entirely up to you which type of topic you Fanpage you wish to create. For example, after Michael Jackson died in June I created a Fanpage dedicated to the â€Å"King Of Pop† and to this date it has over 360 members. Once you have entered your information simply click the â€Å"create page† link. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Now you will be presented with a screen where you b asically have to edit information and images. Make sure you use an image which does not break any copyright laws. However, I have been using images from Google and have not had any problems but I would recommend you use a royalty free image. Here is a cool site for all the royalty free images. http://www. publicdomainpictures. net/ Once you have added your image and added any relevant information to your Fanpage such as URL domain name then simply â€Å"publish your page† so it can go â€Å"LIVE†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)As you can see Facebook Fanpages allow you to add pictures, discussions and other things like your own URL. I am sure you have noticed the â€Å"Become a fan† icons on Facebook. These are very popular and â€Å"hot† right now because people love joining Fanpages. Once you have edited your Fanpage and added all the relevant information then simply start directing traffic to it and start getting lots of p eople to join. The first way to do this is click â€Å"Suggest to friends† link on your Fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you simply start sending â€Å"Inviting† people to join your Fanpage.Once people join your Fanpage your Fanpage link appears on their profile page. For example, if I joined a Fanpage then it will say something like â€Å"Imran Naseem became a fan of [[Group name]]† Now the more people you have on your Facebook then the more people who are most likely to join your Fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are some popular Fanpages that have thousands and thousands of active members (This Fanpage is getting members every 5 seconds! ). http://www. facebook. com/pages/Sleeping-with-one-leg-out-of-thecovers/92775959070? ref=ts http://www. facebook. com/pages/Snuggling/85789376823? ef=search&sid=58 8786853. 1957378242.. 1 http://www. facebook. com/pages/Falling-asleep-whilecu ddling/81785496623? ref=search&sid=588786853. 1688146362.. 1 http://www. facebook. com/pages/asdorsiamediacom/Flipping-the-PillowOver-to-Get-to-the-Cold-Side/78247222425 The more members you have on your Facebook Fanpage the better the chances of you making more money. So how do you make money from Facebook Fanpages? Well there are lots of different ways you can monetize your Facebook Fanpages and make money. Remember people will join your Fanpage either they are passionate about something or just for â€Å"fun†.Sometime’s it is best to take advantage of their passion and monetise you’re Facebook Fanpage and make money. For example, people like to talk about things like â€Å"going for a long drive in the dark† – these are every simple â€Å"human† things and a Fanpage like this can help drive not only lots of members in a short space of time but it can also go â€Å"viral†. There are several ways you can make money from your Facebook Fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) The first way is to promote Clickbank Affiliate Products. For example, let’s ay your Fanpage is about different types of Tattoo designs and it is beginning to get lots and lots of members. The first thing you can do is head over to the Clickbank Marketplace and search for a â€Å"Tattoo related† affiliate product you can promote. As you can see there are lots and lots of different Tatoo related affiliate products that you can promote using your Facebook Fanpage. I usually select the product that has a high â€Å"gravity† and has a good high referral percentage. So for example, let’s say you have a Fanpage on the different types of Tattoo designs and you want to add a URL to your page. Now what you need to do is select the type of product you can promote. So in this case I am going to focus on the products that appear on the first page on the Clickbank marketplace for this niche. I usual ly select the one that has a â€Å"good looking† pitch page. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) So for example, let’s say you are going to select number 2. Here is more information about this affiliate product. We can see that this pays 75% commission for each person who signs up to this membership site. It also has a 91% referral rate and a high gravity. Now with Facebook users I prefer to use â€Å"Direct Linking† because it has the best effect and Facebook users generally take action if they are passionate about something. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Once you have selected the type of Affiliate product you wish to promote simply click â€Å"create hoplink† and then enter your Clickbank nickname. Next Clickbank encrypts your Clickbank affiliate link for the product. Now we are not going to post this â€Å"UGLY LOOKING† affiliate link anywhere on your Facebook Fanpage. However, we are going to mask this affiliate link. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. om (My Blog) The next thing I would do is head over to Godaddy or Namecheap and purchase a domain name. Now in order to keep your costs low I would buy a cheap . info domain name since we are going to be doing â€Å"direct linking† from your Facebook Fanpage to your Clickbank product. So in the case of this example since we are focusing on Tattoos I will purchase a Tattoo related domain name. For example, at the time of writing this report TattooDesignsWorld. info is available and costs just over a dollar to purchase. Now what we are going to do is simply link your domain name to your Clickbank vendor that you intend to promote. Now what we are going to do is use a technique of â€Å"masking† your domain name so anyone who goes to TattooDesignsWorld. info will be automatically forwarded to the vendor page and on the address bar the domain name will replace your affiliate link. Now with Godaddy this is pretty simple and easy to do. The first thing you will need to do is log in to your GoDaddy Account. Once you are logged in simply head over to your domain name that you have purchased until you come across a screen that looks like this. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next click the â€Å"manage link†.Once you have done that you should see a screen that looks like this (see below). The next thing you need to do â€Å"mask† your domain name. Now as you can see you are presented with several options. At the top you simply paste your Clickbank affiliate link at the top and then head over to â€Å"Forward with masking† and click Ok. Eventually after 10-15 minutes your domain name will be â€Å"masked† with your Affiliate link. So basically anyone who goes to yourdomain. com will be forwarded to your Clickbank vendor page. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Now Facebook Fanpages can make you a lot of money in the long-term because just â€Å"One status change† on Facebook can result in money. Facebook users are generally the type who like â€Å"funny, new and wacky† stuff and if they are passionate about something then they will make sure they do something about it. If you need any ideas on the types of Facebook pages to set up then feel free to use sites like Yahoo Answers to see what types of questions people are asking in regards to everyday issues or hobbies etc. I usually create Fanpages on topics/niches that people will constantly talk about. Here are some really cool â€Å"fun Fanpages† ones you can try. I hate people who smoke! I hate people who smoke whilst eating! I hate Sundays! I hate people who stare at you whilst eating! I love sleeping on a cold day! I love eating ice cream on a hot summers day! And here are â€Å"niche Fanpages† you can create and start profiting from 1 Million girls who want to live in a big house when they are marr ied 1 Million fans who love Tattoo Designs 1 Million people who love singing 1 Million people who love to dance 1 million people who love to eat Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. om (My Blog) Now on your Fanpages make sure you regularly update your status and make sure you direct people to your Affiliate Link. For example, if your Fanpage is on Tattoos then send people to your Tattoo Page by having text which includes something like this. For example, grab a Free Tatoo Lovers Profile [[URL LINK]]. Here is an example of a page that is already doing this. http://www. facebook. com/hotchickswithtattoos? ref=search&sid=588786853. 3322830222.. 1 This Fanpage is using this Affiliate Program to direct traffic to using the power of Facebook Fanpages. One of my Facebook Fanpages is making me anywhere from $400-$500 a month on complete Autopilot. The more people that join your fanpage the most likely it will spread and go â€Å"viral†. People will tell other people to join your Fanpage and so on.. The more people that are on your Fanpage then you can message these people on a daily basis. Facebook has a limit on the number of messages you can send to your members but you can send messages to over 1000 people per day. This is the true power of Facebook â€Å"viral marketing† at its best. You can also comment on peoples â€Å"status† and ask people to spread the word about your Fanpage.Potentially hundreds and hundreds of people will see your Facebook fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Using Fanpages to make money with CPA Affiliate Marketing Now this is one of my favourite strategies of making money on complete Autopilot and it involves making Fanpages and using Low Involvement CPA offers that require just an email address. These type of CPA offers pay anywhere from $1-$2. 00 and these can add up easily. These work best if you have a group for a specific category. For example, you can have a fanpage on à ¢â‚¬Å"the fastest person who enters their email address gets a chance to win a FREE laptop†.These types of Fanpages are another example of â€Å"fun† type of Fanpages. Here are some examples of low involvement CPA offers that pay anywhere form $1. 00-$2. 00 for a simple email address. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Setting up fanpages for Low involvment offers can all add up. For example, lets say you set up 10 different Facebook fan pages each bringnig you constant stream of visitors to your Fanpage. Now if these pages involved people entering their email address and taking action then you can easily make up to $50-$100 a day from these fanpages. It really is that simple! Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) How to spot your competiton for Fanpages! Now with Fanpages you might want to set up a certain fanpage but sometimes there can be occasions where someo ne already has set up a Fanpage on something. This can be quite annoying sometimes. Here is a pretty easy way to look for other competing Fanpages. For example, let’s say you wanted to create a Facebook Fanpage titled â€Å"driving in the rain† Now the first thing to do is enter the phrase â€Å"driving in the rain† in the search bar.As you can see on the left hand side you can see just how many different types of â€Å"pages and groups and applications† there are for this phrase or particular topic†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Since we are focusing on just Fanpages you can see there is already an existing Fanpage which has just over 800 fans. Now this is good news since we can easily beat this competition since it has not many members. So what you can do is set up a competing fanpage titled â€Å"People who love driving in the rain†. If there are several competing Fanpages for the same niche I would avoid co mpeting and move on to an alternative niche. It is up to you on the type of Fanpage you want to create – either you want to create one for â€Å"fun† with a view to get as many members as possible so you can then later on direct people to a CPA offer or you can create a page with the intention of getting people to fill in your CPA Offers (be careful though as some CPA Networks do not allow incentives traffic so make sure you promote the ones that do). However, I have been promoting 99% of CPA low involvement offers without any problems. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Flipping Facebook Fanpages Once your Facebook fanpage has gone â€Å"viral† and it is making you money why not flip it on FLIPPA? There are so many potential buyers out there who would love to purchase Fanpages. If it makes them money then they will easily pay up to $1000-$2000 depending on the number of people you have on your Fanpage. However, I would first make sure yo ur Facebook Fanpage has lots of members, is making you money on Autopilot and also is active. If you have lots of members on your Facebook then you have a much better chance of growing your Fanpage easily. In the next section I am going to talk about how you can make money from Facebook Applications. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Making Money from Facebook Applications Now this is one of the most lucrative areas of Facebook and one that can bring in big profits if done properly. Have you ever noticed those Facebook Applications that people are constantly using? For example, most of these are quizzes and games that people like to try because not only are they curious but they seem interesting. Here are some popular Facebook Applications right now. This Application â€Å"predicts† people’s future. Are you going to have luck in the coming week? It has just over 274,000 fans right now and is growing! Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNasee m. com (My Blog) This Facebook Application finds your next â€Å"true love†. It has just over 64,000 active members as of now. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Flixster is the most popular Facebook application with just over 14 million users it lets people discuss and talk about movies and take quizzes. So how do you Build a Facebook Application? Well it is pretty simple and this is how you do it.The first thing you will need to so is Register the Facebook Application so just go to this link here. http://www. facebook. com/developer and then click â€Å"ALLOW Access† Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now this is basically an Application by Facebook which allows you to build any Application. So once you are on the page the first thing you will need to do is click â€Å"setup new application†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you should see a screen that looks something like th is. Now what you need to do here is name your Facebook Application, and agree to their terms and conditions.Be careful in what name you pick as sometimes Facebook might own the trademark to the name of a certain application. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you should see a screen containing important information about your new Facebook Application. On the Left hand side of the screen you should see a â€Å"Canvas†. Click on that and then simply choose your Canvas Page URL (This is the URL where Facebook users access your Application. So basically enter anything you want here – it is a bit similar to registering a domain name! ). Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)You should also see a section called â€Å"Canvas Callback URL† is the main remote URL where Facebook displays your Application from. You will automatically get a CALLBACK URL after you have set up your Application so make sure you keep this win dow open. Whilst keeping that window open – Open another window by going here. http://apps. facebook. com/appstudio/wizards. php Log in and click â€Å"Allow†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you should see a screen which basically lists the different types of Application you can create. In the case of this example let’s create a â€Å"Quiz Application†. As you can see you are presented with an option to name your â€Å"Quiz Application†. Pick an appropriate name then click â€Å"Complete Step 1†. Once you have done that it is time to configure your Application. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next simply enter the relevant information. Now remember the window you had opened? Simply paste your Facebook â€Å"Secret† and â€Å"Canvas Page URL† to configure your application. Then click â€Å"Save your Quiz A pp Settings†. Once you have entered all your information you should see a screen that looks like this (see below)Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now as you can see you receive your â€Å"Call back URL† (Highlighted above) For example, for my application my callback URL is http://www. socialappstudio. com/appstudio/apps/babyquiz/ Now you need to go back to your first window and paste this callback URL Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Then click â€Å"Save Changes†. If you did everything right you should paste your call back Application URL to your browser and see a screen that looks something like this (see below). Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Next click â€Å"Allow† and now you are ready to run your Application. Then simply log in as admin and click â€Å"Continue† Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) The type of Application you do is enti rely up to you – you can add images, banners, text and customise it. Using CPA for your Applications Now you can also make money from your Applications by using CPA by using the Affiliate Application Wizard. This can work well for low involvement CPA offers or can use Dating Offers (which tend to convert really well). Dating Applications are very popular on Facebook right now and offers that require just a simple email address. The more members you have and the more money you will make the better the chances of you flipping your entire application on places like FLIPPA and other marketplaces such as the Warrior Forum Marketplace. How to use Facebook and make something go â€Å"viral† If you have a crazy idea or a wacky moment why not do something â€Å"viral†? For example, you might want to set up a fanpage or a group and actually pay people to join – YEP! You can pay as little as $0. 01 for each member who joins your group or you can pay people who help g et you new members. Facebook is excellent when it comes to something that might go â€Å"viral† and spread.Facebook has millions and millions of users on a daily basis and the traffic from it can really help for your cause. For example, you might want to even make money by setting up a capture page for people and build a list in the process. For example, we all know that the female market is huge – especially when it comes to make up. Why not set up a capture page with the following words. Imran Naseem – http://www.
